Emerald Coast, Florida Unity Developers... and Me
Greetings, everyone
Figured it was about time I made the migration over to this excellent site for us Unity developers. I know, I know. I am late joining the crowd, but as they say "better late than never".
I am in the Emerald Coast area of Florida; or, more specifically, Pensacola. Curious if there is already a UUG Chapter somewhere near me... or just some other Unity Developers in the area that feel like mixing it up a bit. Scuba diving sessions and programming duels for all within range.
Sincerely,
L. J. Crochet
j.joly,
Glad you would have me. The dimeRocker service has been on my radar for awhile. Personally, I am hoping it turns into a massive success... if for no other reason than people who put in hard work and effort for the benefit of others should be rewarded.
I am definitely pleased to know you all enjoyed PMP. I am almost finished with V1.0, and will have it posted through dimeRocker as soon as I get everything integrated.
As to being a Pit Boss... Not sure what all is entailed, but I will definitely try to push some press and other designers your way. Would love to see this community grow. Trying to think if I know of any other Unity developers in this area. I know Discord is relatively close, in Alabama... will have to send him a message, and see just HOW close.
Looking forward to seeing what is on the horizon, gentleman. Wait... wait... Yep. It looks like sunshine.
Sincerely,
CH (Never know what to sign these as... my real name, or my designer pseudonym)
CH,
Thanks for your support.
The office is a hive of activity as the emails and enthusiasm pours in.
Expect another big API coming this week to round out the service until we finish the microtransaction API the beginning of 2010.
Our goal was to democratize the landscape, under the umbrella of true gaming independence for Unity games devs on the web.
In terms of Pit Boss, it just means you will help organize your local, meetups, etc. Quite low maintenance - you get extra admin privileges.
In terms of name J. Joly is my real name - many think it is a handle.
Best,
J.

CH,
We were just playing "PMP" last night in dR HQ.
Thanks for signing up for dimeRocker beta.
The response has been through the roof!
We are busy getting mySpace and next API released ASAP.
Spread the word.
In terms of role at UUG, we are definitely looking for someone to be a Pit Boss down in Gator Country. Interested?
I would love to see an active dev community spring up.
Cheers,
J.Joly
