Oh wow, I haven't posted here in a while.

Anyways, I was going through my RSS feeds today and I noticed that the dimeRocker closed beta was announced two days ago. It had me thinking, since I'm focusing on iPhone games with the eventual transition over to the browser, will there be support in the next-gen iteration of dimeRocker for the iPhone (similar in functionality to OpenFeint, ScoreLoop, Agon, Plus+, Geocade, etc)?

I guess what I'm saying is, is the iPhone in your roadmap... actually, are you planning to publically post a roadmap on the future of dimeRocker? That would be very interesting!

Thanks,
Melvin

Great Questions for iPhone devs!

Melvin,

Thanks for the shout-out about the soft launch of dimeRocker...

More announcements to come shortly...

In answer to your question... yes we do plan on supporting iPhone both now and in the future.

Interestingly enough, some of our first sign-ups were iPhone Unity devs who either did not make the revenue they imagined on iPhone and/or want to create a secondary revenue stream and marketing opportunity to push App store sales by pushing out a version to the social web.

Many are currently in the process of porting their content over to the web for social web deployment via the dimeRocker. That speaks to issues now. Now moving forward...

Our plan from the outset has been anytime, anywhere, any platform social gaming. That being said we realize the technology isn't quite there to have a PC and iPhone multiplayer solution. But we do predict that it is not far off. In the mean time we are looking at building API to currently slated for Q3 of 2011 that will allow for some cross-platform play as well as asynchronous game play. More on this soon...

These solutions will be a combination of proprietary and best of breed solutions that may include OpenFeint, ScoreLoop, etc).

I would love to hear from you in terms of what you would like to see - or ideas you may have that could benefit the community.

dimeRocker does have an obvious social web priority and that is only because the top five social networks represent close to a billion people, where currently there are only 60+ iPhones in circulation.
Mobile is on the roadmap for the near future, and before you ask, it also includes Android.

Cheers,
J.Joly
