dimeRocker and Facebook Credits
Hi Guys,
With Facebook tightening the noose of micro transactions for Facebook games to only use Facebook Credits (see the fight between Facebook and Zynga), how will this play out with dimeRocker? Unless I'm mistaken, dimeRocker and SuperRewards have a close bond.
Will this mean less money per transaction for the developers? Since Facebook and dR will both be taking a slice of the MT pie.
Thanks for any info.
Cheers,
-Rob.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the head's up on that.
So, part of our long term development plan is to cover all platforms, be it Facebook, iPhone and web. Is dR thinking about an avenue similar to Tiger Woods Golf Online where people can play it in a browser outside of Facebook? And along those lines, how about being able to embed dR and MicroT inside of a full screen stand alone app? A lot harder I know.
Cheers,
-Rob.

yes we do, a web deployable widget for dimeRocker is pretty high on our agenda at present. It will still use Facebook connect as a login (although we could always implement our own) which would enable us to go with a payment option other than FB credits.
In regards to a use in a standalone app, it should be able to do that with the changes we are implementing for the widget.
Sounds awesome and I will be keeping my eyes peeled for the latest and greatest updates then. ;-)
Cheers,
-Rob.

Hey Rob,
Basically if they make it mandatory we will have to implement it. that said I don't see them being ready to do it for 6 months to a year as they are at such an early stage.
Unfortunately it would mean less money for both developers and dimeRocker. Most of the social geared payment gateways like super rewards take around 12% to start, however facebook takes 30% so thats where the damage is.
Thanks
Mike
